Sounds like world music gone wrong, right?
Well you haven’t met Him yet! The outfit is led by American drummer Doug Scharin, who is well known for his collaborations with bands like June of 44, Rex, Mice Parade, Aod and most importantly, Enablers, who have worked for almost 15 years to evolve, transform and mutate HIM into a surreal creature of heavenly beauty.

No need to introduce Doug Scharin, gifted drummer from Activities of Dust, June of 44, Codeine, Rex, Mice Parade... Since 1995, the latter has fronted HIM, a real musical UFO on the fringes of Afro beat, post-rock and dub. After releasing no less than seven albums, that explore unexpected sonic territories a little more with each release, HIM are back with a new opus entitled ん (a Japanese character that is pronounced "hmmmm"). Doug Scharin has chosen to renew acquaintance with the Japanese group who accompanied him on his previous album and takes us once again on an even more mixed and innovative musical journey. Imagine the soundtrack to a holiday in the Caribbean on which Tortoise, Fela Kuti, Jaga Jazzist and Shugo Tokumaru have been invited, and you’ll have a slightly better idea what this album is all about. Simply hmmmm…magical!
