Champions
Blakfish
These 4 boys from Birmingham have been playing together since the age of 12, and they’re still spitting out manic rock that surfs on a raw wave of math rock, punk and metal all at once. Few groups of their kind successfully manage to combine such melodic finesse, power and sonic madness...
We dreamt about it, and Blakfish did it!

After See you in another city, the first Blakfish EP released in 2008 on the excellent UK label “Big Scary Monsters”, the Birmingham quartet are back this year with Champions and its 10 pepped-up tracks.
With their self-named "death pop" style – a tag that can be endorsed easily when the band scoffs at the rules so readily - Blakfish have taken pop, metal and punk influences and served them up for us with fantastic interpretation and great panache. Recorded in Seattle by Chris Common (These Arms Are Snakes), the album was released in England in August on Hassle Records and has already made a lot of noise in the press there. It is therefore with undisguised pleasure that Hiphiphip presents Champions in a limited collector's version!
